The Period Dilemna

THE PERIOD DILEMNAS
This blog post is going to talk about the various issues that usually seem to be over- looked by the majority of people.
I know when I get cramps, I right away stock up on either tampons or pads for that monthly "party of pain" (depending on what's nearest to the checkout at the supermarket), so I can run home as fast as possible. However, during those few days of menstruation you also feel relieved, whether it's due to the fact that you know you won't have it again until next month, or you might be proud that you're going through that womanly procedure. However, on the downside, having your period does cause your hormones to go a little out of control; causing mood swings, insecurities, odd cravings of food... But, what's important to remember is it's in no way an excuse for men or women to use the:"Oh, it's that time of the month again" to answer for every abnormal behavior. Sometimes, we girls may not even be on our period and people will just assume that we are, when in fact something very real may be bothering us that actually has nothing to do with being on our period! A woman is allowed to have her own strong opinions and to feel all emotions, and even if it contradicts with your opinion and she might seem grumpy, that doesn't necessarily mean it's simply because she's menstruating. Also, for all you girls out there that use this as your excuse for getting out of responsibilities, please try to refrain from doing that, because you're only degrading yourself and women around the world!!

PADS VS TAMPONS

Now that I've gotten that out of my system another issue I would like to discuss is the pressure of using pads or tampons! However, there shouldn't be any type of pressure! They are both perfectly fine  utensils!  The constant arguments about which of the two products is "better" is irrelevant; we as women should be permitted to simply choose which product is more comfortable for us, especially since it's such a delicate and personal process! I myself have gotten into arguments with my friends about using pads or tampons, and it was horrible.. It's such a personal matter and sometimes it can even be a struggle with insecurities to decide, so people should really just respect someone else's choice!! Whether you use a tampon or a pad; whether you "free bleed" or use menstrual cups, it's your decision what is more comfortable for your "flow" to flush out of your body in the most efficient, relieving way of choice.
